CV format guide

What to know about local CV conventions before you apply in this country.

Local term: Resume / CVPhoto: Discouraged

In Canada, like the US, adding a photo isn't recommended, for the same anti-discrimination reasons. 1-2 pages is normal. Quebec/French-Canadian resumes lean slightly more European in style, but the same advice against a photo still applies.

These are general guidelines based on common practice, not hard rules — a specific employer's expectations can differ. When in doubt, it's safe to keep both a with-photo and a without-photo version ready.
