What to know about local CV conventions before you apply in this country.
In Germany, the photo question is genuinely mixed: traditional local firms still often expect one, while multinationals increasingly prefer none. 1-2 pages, tabular format, dated and signed; a separate cover letter (Anschreiben) is almost always expected too.
These are general guidelines based on common practice, not hard rules — a specific employer's expectations can differ. When in doubt, it's safe to keep both a with-photo and a without-photo version ready.
