CV format guide

What to know about local CV conventions before you apply in this country.

Local term: ResumePhoto: Discouraged

In the US, adding a photo to your resume is discouraged — many employers reject resumes with photos outright to avoid discrimination liability. 1 page is standard for early-career candidates, up to 2 pages for experienced ones. Age and marital status aren't included either.

These are general guidelines based on common practice, not hard rules — a specific employer's expectations can differ. When in doubt, it's safe to keep both a with-photo and a without-photo version ready.
